Yup, had a taste of it 2 years ago and the renewable spigot got turned on for a while and then shut off promptly once it wasn't an immediate issue. They've been talking about it since Reagan and still haven't got around to doing anything more substantial than talk about it. Could have spent a trillion on it instead of pissing it away on the banks and I don't think we'd be any worse off than we are now.
I would say it's all part of the big plan but honestly I think very few of them have enough sense to plan what clothes they're gonna wear tomorrow let alone set in place a sensible long-term plan for addressing anything like energy needs or debt levels. Plan for today, borrow enough for tomorrow, and we'll worry about Monday when it gets here.
