Plastic to oil is just one small stream in alternative fuels. I was talking to a rep from Waste Management Inc. and he told me that he couldn't tell me how many alternative fuel and power generating options the company is investing in. I think it's clear that the waste industry, and I don't mean this as a joke, really is a growth industry as they are no longer just in the collection and landfill business, they have been and will continue to be in the waste as a renewable resource industry.
Covanta are looking at picking the Alphkat system, haven't made a final decision from what I've seen. Global Energy Inc. have the rights to the system in North America, scary company. From an older post of mine:
Re: Global Energy Inc., not competition for JBI. So much for Alphakat getting a better partner with these buck-a-roos. www.globalenergyinc.com This company is a joke, they have nothing but debt and nothing, I mean nothing substantial.
Lots of plans, started something in 2003, abandoned it in 2005 selling all their assets for $50,000. Their new venture with Alphakat (which is owned by the inventor), hasn't done much. The filing I read, link is below, is either a comedy or a tragedy, I can't decide, lots of starts, everything fizzled, not renewed, etc.... Stock went from a high of 80 cents to 1 cent at one point. These are the companies that give penny stocks a bad name.
