Fact: Ken speaks thousands times better than he posts written words.
Focus: How to replace Ken's fumble fingers with his gifted gilded tongue.
Return in Values if accomplished: 1. Priceless 2. Paulie Pixel's View of Ken with five tongues on each hand as digits.
How not to do this: telephone style with answering machine method
But using a method to record and playback IH "posts" that are audio files.
Imagine Churquack posts a regular reply to a regular post Ken made:
"The way I understand what you wrote concludes me to reply that its a dumbo idea."
So rather than dig that hole deeper & wider using more written words, Ken speaks into his pc's microphone and makes a verbal post for Churak.
Devil in daDetails ================== IH allocated disk space to Premium Voice-Plus members that allows them to upload small voice only .WAV files. Its organized like any regular IH board, but sound is always ON, and the file that is the .WAV file uploaded is attached to the post.
IH's Private Talk'n Club ========================== For sure boards not accessable by non Premium Voice-Plus members.
KISS'n towards BobZ & Dave ============================== Don't want anything requiring more than very minor new code addition.
eXtra Kiss'n towards IH ========================= There is nothing new here in this idea, as we all can listen to voice sounds, as all we need is that link h t t p://www... listen.wav to click.
http://photobucket.com has an Add Picture (uploaded from pc) that is very easy to use in a point & click manner, and hopefully that code is available as Open Source someplace, or someone here knowing about that area of file transfers over the internet (FTA - File Transfer Agent)
Matt, Ken, Bob & Dave could demo this among themselves.
Just allocate a secret part on IH's harddrive to store & access .WAV files.
Just need a program to create voice .WAV files.
See if it is a more effective method than phone-tag when a long talking session is done between two, and each has a tape recorder going on their side.
For sure anyone listening gets only a constant one-sided listen.
But thats where the message board of voice posts could render a realistic version of a two or more way conversation if everyone only talked to that .WAV file being stored on their pc, and uploaded and attached to the board as a voice post time-wise to a post they replied to.
(i.e.) Each person coughts up $19.95 (see below)
I think my eMachine with Windows XP has preloaded hardware & software for me to record voice. All I need buy is a microphone at Wal-China-Mart.
But for this to really be a tool for sanity & progress a program to collect and store voice files need to also be an organizer type utility so that one can add text files attached to voice files to identify what is what.
