" and that management wants to buy back its own stock as the current valuation is so "compelling". Yet they file a $20 million shelf today"

All those scammers (CCME, ZSTN, TSTC or GFRE) learned really fast to use a word "buyback" in order to help their own SP, while they didnt buy a single share (sorry ZSTN bought some shares and then filled for gazillion times bigger offering).
Coming from EE country with really high corruption, i was expecting to see around 40-50 percent scams in our space and hoping for multi-multi baggers with the rest, but now it looks like that number of scams is much higher.
I am expecting to see companies in the next round offering dividends in order to retain realiability only to have gazillion times bigger offerings later (already suspected KEYP and TPI with cancelled dividend).

NEWN - stands for New Energy not New Battery. They had hinted on their web site they wanted in Solar long before their last purchase.

I still believe this is a legitimate company.

They also could not buy their own stock with undisclosed information. Even if this will allow them to buy cheaper, if they don't have a press release Tuesday.

NEWN- Used to be one of my favs but I lost interest when I looked closer at their acquisitions. Much of the acquisition cost went to goodwill or intangibles, which often means they overpaid for them. For example: NEWN paid $24 mil for Kim Fai yet the SE was only $546 K. With Anytone, $19 mil of goodwill was put on the books vs $33 mil cost. With Newpower, the intangibles actually exceeded the purchase price.

Also on Kim Fai which cost $24 mil, that company had spent a grand total of $43 K the previous year for R&D. Hardly seems like a high tech state of the art operation to me.

These #s come from my notes but it appears to me that there are plenty of red flags waving with this one.
