daily NYSE up volume to total NYSE volume ratio -

this chart updates only after each day's close

* what will be a useful clue during the next ten trading days into the April 15th options expiry is:

how many days occur for which this ratio is less than 20% ... and how many occur over 80%

FYI - only eight days in 2011 have resided below 20%

thirty-four days in 2011 have resided above 50% (54% of the 63 trading days through April 1st)

in contrast, shown below is the same chart view for the June, 2008 to June 30, 2009 time period when price was declining and then basing horizontally -

four distinct cumulative advance/decline lines ... Dave has posted an April 1st chart update showing -

the NYSE composite, common, preferred, and Bond CEF cumulative advance/decline lines ...

noting that last Friday had all four of these liquidity quotients at new all-time highs for the first time since May of 2007

see the second chart in this thread -

SPX price, NYSE internals and McClellan breadth tool (NYSI) chart updates to compliment those charts in post #158 -

this is my comment about this chart set I posted on December 17, 2010,
at another IHub board before this board was initiated -

http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=57873690

* the first two charts provide a solid perspective for the 2009 to 2011 relevance of the NYSI:

880 and 350 horizontal levels

* an institutional services organization called Ned Davis Research (NDR) provides
some research detail about the actionability of the 40 and 55
horizontal levels I have selected to show in the lower portion
of this second chart which displays SPX internals

this third chart is:

* I have used this "relative TICK chart" - 1min TICK closes to the 1min SPX closes ratio - for a few years
and have shared it at the Main Board at www.technicalwatch.com a few times over the years with some explanation about
how "TICK fulfillment" works with the price action

it will be apparent to you how this chart
progresses in the future to provide signals which can be reliable

it does require some depth of experience in using this data for actionability to actual trading

NYSE daily and cumulative breadth trend - the 3 charts in post #158 are charts I look at every evening
to understand the actual trend of market liquidity being put to work, as reflected in the NYSE breadth data

the chart below updates one of the cumulative NYSE breadth charts posted earlier at post #158

* will the advance continue above the upper horizontal which I have marked on this chart
for the current new high achieved on April 29 by the cumulative NYAD?

* it is time to be vigilant about the upper and the lower horizontal values I have placed on the NYMO ...
52.29 was the most recent high for NYMO

a daily NYAD chart is shown below this chart #1

chart #2

updated daily NYAD histogram bars with the NYSE Composite Index daily price closes shown above the main chart body -

this chart compliments breadth and price charts in Post #'s -
152, 158, 160, 167 and 232
