The methane hydrates on the continental shelves, that's fascinating eh ... i have wondered how they come up with figures when they've recovered so little of them to date, wild-assed guessing it looks like, still quite interesting .... there could come quite a tech boom around Vancouver, in developing the equipment to harvest the stuff ... federal jurisdiction though, i think, once you're out of the three-mile limit [?], so you're dealing with the fed-Liberal virtual dictatorship, good luck with permitting
I don't see anything 'through the media' on an upcoming gas squeeze, mind you i haven't read much media on the subject either ... but i just noticed a few posters commenting on it, and found it interesting ... personally i am pretty stuck on the golds right now, don't have the same speculation cash as in other winters, and i really think that is where there is bang for the buck - cheap juniors with known metal, forming no-expiry call options on the PoG .... whether the PoG goes north or south in the near term is immaterial to me, i'm fairly sure that it eventually goes north [or to put it more accurately, a little air comes out of USD, relative to gold] ... and, chances of at least a healthy uptick in late winter or spring are quite decent imho ... i'll be surprised if gold does not print 360 by december '03
This thing of posting trades 'in real-time', i admire people who can do that, but don't even try it myself ... either i'm focussed on message boards or on trading, one or the other, it's too distracting to attempt both .... usually i'm concentrating on maybe two shares, four at the most, considering switching from two into another one or two, but more often from one to one other ... working with just one screen, but that's not the main reason, really it's an inability to fit too many things in the mind at the same time ... how Zeev can do what he does i cannot imagine, it's way beyond my capabilities
Btw, russwinter does call many of his sells - #reply-18305952 .. lots of them on Precious and Base, as well .... as for calling in realtime any significant sale of an illiquid junior, that could absolutely tank the thing when the bids are thin, which is often the case ... i approach the subject very carefully myself, largely by making it plain in advance that that is what i do, try to work up house-money positions by playing the swings .... if something is highly liquid and spiked way up, like xcl was this spring, i post my sales in vivid language, because in that case the gap had to fill, to fix up its chart, for it to tank from one loonie was not harming it in any way .... many times they're not so liquid though, and i have no desire to damage the thing, usually i'm just raising cash to put back on the bid lower down anyway, and have only sold a portion of position .... they can be quite sensitive, best to mention sales in a subtle manner, and perhaps outside of trading hours when folks are relaxed and have a cool fizzy beverage in front of them ... imho
I've got you and Kastel bookmarked here now, a few others as well ... never really got organised on iHub yet ... lots more time coming though, with the nights getting so long .... cheers
