Is Lt. Gov Ron Ramsey Corrupt With Congresswoman Diane Black? (DNA Bill) by Keep your hands off my DNA on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 1:31pm
An interesting development...
Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey's recent bill to forcefully steal DNA from innocent individuals was introduced into the TN Legislature a few weeks ago. Of course this bill has serious Constitutional issues, but that aside, following the money trail causes one to ask if the Lt. Governor is being corrupted by Congresswoman Diane Black and her husband's successful medical testing company?
2-Congresswoman Diane Black's husband, David Black, owns Aegis labs which is a very lucrative, entrenched, and politically connected corporation (it employs Bill Frist): http://www.aegislabs.com/About_Aegis
3-Aegis labs specializes in forensics and law enforcement crime lab testing, etc holding multiple government contracts. Congresswoman Diane Black's husband's company could potentially stand to vastly increase their revenue at the expense of taxpayers if this bill passes: http://politics.nashvillepost.com/?s=aegis
4-Congresswoman Diane Black's husband, David Black, has given thousands of $$ to Lt Governor Ron Ramsey's campaigns: http://www.state.tn.us/tref/
Hmmm.... Do you think there could possibly be a connection here?
Besides Lt Governor Ron Ramsey's blatant disregard for the Constitution's prohibition on unreasonable search and seizure, despite Lt Governor Ron Ramsey's sidestepping of serious questions about the bill, despite Lt Governor Ron Ramsey's inability to explain the necessity and Constitutionality of this bill, one has to wonder if Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey has introduced this bill at the direction of one of his major donating families, Diane and David Black?
Furthermore, other questions about this DNA-grabbing bill linger --
Was there any quid-pro-quo?
Is Lt Governor Ron Ramsey the puppet of Congresswoman Diane Black and her husband's mega corporation?
Did the Lt Governor take a "legal" bribe?
How much money would Congresswoman Diane Black and her husband potentially profit from the passage of this bill?
Is Lt Governor Ron Ramsey simply paying back Aegis and the Black family for generous campaign contributions by introducing this bill?
Have any ethics violations transpired by either Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey or Congresswoman Diane Black?
If this issue concerns you, then you should call the Lt Governor and ask him these questions yourself!
And while you have him on the phone you should tell him to yank the big-government statist Obama-like DNA bill he has introduced (SB257).

MURFREESBORO — Former Republican congressional candidate Lou Ann Zelenik said Monday she is calling for the dismissal of a defamation case by U.S. Rep. Diane Black and her husband's company, Aegis.
Zelenik, who narrowly lost to the Gallatin Republican in the August 2010 primary, said she directed her attorneys to drop a counterclaim and file a motion for summary judgment against Black and the drug-testing company owned by her husband, David.
Aegis Sciences Corp. sued Zelenik in July over a commercial she ran calling attention to Black's repeated votes as a state senator awarding $1 million worth of government contracts to her husband's company in which she had a financial interest.
Aegis contended the commercial was false and sued her for defamation of character and asked the court to stop the commercial from airing.
"The very individuals who chose to sue me for exercising my right to speak about an elected official have steadfastly refused to come forward with any evidence supporting their claim," Zelenik stated in a release Monday.
The court ruled in Zelenik's favor, saying her commercial was protected political speech. Aegis and Black refused to dismiss the case, and Zelenik filed a counterclaim against them both.
Zelenik said she asked Aegis and Black last August to identify which statements were untrue. She said she still hasn't received an answer and believes the lawsuit was designed to "chill political speech at a time when that discourse was at its most important."
Black and Aegis should dismiss their claims or prove that Black didn't vote to award contracts to her husband's company "in which she has a direct financial stake," Zelenik's statement said.
The U.S. congresswoman could not be reached for a response Monday afternoon.
The ad showed Black giving a large check written to Aegis to a man with a blurred face and an arrow pointing toward him saying "hubby." The check was changed later to say "drug testing company."
Zelenik, who was a former chairman of the Rutherford County Republican Party, said Black voted for six Senate bills from 2006 through 2009 that appropriated some $1 million in state contracts to Aegis. Zelenik also said Black, as vice chairman of the Senate General Welfare Committee, voted in favor of a budget for the Division of Mental Retardation Services that contained a $426,000 contract with Aegis.
A mediator was unable to bring the defamation lawsuit to a close in November.
Black beat Zelenik by only about 300 votes in the hotly contested Republican primary for the 6th Congressional District seat that was vacated by Democratic Rep. Bart Gordon of Murfreesboro. Black then handily defeated Democrat Brett Carter in the Nov. 2 federal election
Yes there is! I think that could be successfully challenged. But just think of the cost of drug testing all those people -- and they say they are fiscally responsible??? GImme a break!
