I would think if they were doing their DD they would read the news also, but I do understand your concern. I did think he addressed the situation best he could after he was made aware. In my discussion with him in this matter he was very upset and got on the phone right after our discussion to contact accounting. Since they were working on year end data, it would just make sense to look over everything carefully to understand how the mistake was made and to ensure it won't happen again. This way he will have a better idea of what happened and how to address the mistake properly instead of rushing in with guns blazing.
Shouldn't be too long now before we get the matter cleared up.
