I had Lincoln Logs. I never even made it to an Erector Set.
I have a fast connection.
They picked the Hitler Youth aspect to headline for sensationalism even though he didn’t join until membership was made compulsory in 1941. He didn’t like it and quickly left skid marks.
His conservative stance is deplorable.
Interesting that many Jews are upset with his statement in 1987 that Jewish history and scripture reach fulfillment only in Christ -- a position denounced by critics as "theological anti-Semitism". This to me seems a just and normal reaction from the Jews.
But many Jews are not ‘upset’ with the CRW whose ultimate goal is to convert the Jews to Christianity. Wouldn’t this also be anti-Semitic? The difference perhaps being that in the ‘ladder’ example the Jews benefit from the political clout of the CRW.
You would think a half way intelligent person who saw the Nazis up close and apparently recoiled at their methods would refrain from any type of constraints that serve to diminish a religion such as his 1987 remark regarding Judaism and his mindset toward the Muslims.
The following is regarding attendance at Mass but I understand it to be relevant toward all Catholic behavior.
The Catholic Church believes all life is sacred – from conception to death. The Church is openly against the death penalty, euthanasia, stem cell research, violence, and war, it is obvious what the highest priority must and should be.
My understanding is a Catholic does not have to save your ass if harm can come to him in the effort which would explain the Alphonsus quote – no harm to body.
