How can the market accurately price gold with this sort of news? It can't say today what Gold is worth tomorrow. Only what it is worth today and only in the sense that it tells you the price of exchange. Value, I submit, is more than todays price. Value for investment purposes is what it will be worth later, something the market does not know.Take a look at this article and answer the question what is the "value" of gold for investment? is it todays price or tomorrows price? if the latter, the one thing we know almost for sure, the market price today is wrong as a predictor of the price tomorrow. You are better off making a chart and studying its trend than using todays price.
Fed’s Lockhart Open to QE3
Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President, Dennis Lockhart, stated on Monday that the Federal Reserve cannot rule out further asset purchases following the end of QE2 on June 30 of this year.
Speaking at a conference sponsored by the National Association for Business Economics, Lockhart said that “My first inclination is to be very cautious about extending asset purchases after June…Given the emergence of new risks, however, I prefer a posture of flexibility as regards policy options.”
Lockhart offered additional dovish comments, noting that while employment data in recent months has shown the unemployment rate falling and improving levels of job creation, ”It is premature to declare a jobs recovery firmly established.”
