Although he could still be correct if the entire confidence interval were on the wrong side of 0.

That seems intuitively unlikely given the small difference in the means. For someone with your expertise in statistics, it ought to be easy to get a rough idea.

This is yet another prime example of cross-trial comparison and why FDA has resisted Bayesian analysis in drug trials.



I agree. The question to me is why AMLN/LLY conducted the trial in the first place? What did they want to prove? If the trial met primary endpoint, Bydureon were non-inferior to Victoza, so what? I think it is an example of bad decision making.
