I have my call and email into IR. EYES wide open here
So if I understand what you have posted, you have essentially gone "all in" without even knowing the most basic and important numbers that it is critical to know when investing in a company of this type, i.e. "What are the current oil production numbers and what are the projected potential oil production numbers?", hence the "Gee, I just bought a boatload of your stock. Would you be kind enough to tell me what that critical piece of information is?" email into IR and you call that "EYES wide open"?!
Let's just say they respond to your email with some hard numbers. Do you have any idea how to value the company? Are you going to figure that out AFTER you have gone "all in"? "Let me see... So many BBL/DAY = such and such market cap..."
This reminds me of a few months ago when I saw "Shopper's Mystery Bags" at a dollar store. After you buy one and pay, you open it up and find out if you got your monies worth.
I'm really not trying to give you a hard time. When I was growing up, the richest person in the world was J. Paul Getty. He made his vast wealth in the oil biz. If you read his book "How to be Rich", he stresses over and over again the importance of doing extensive due diligence BEFORE making any investment. It was the "secret" to his success. The number of bad investments he made were few. But... maybe you are smarter :)
