It's because of Naked Short Selling.
Fraud Possibilities? Yeah, those frauds...not us.
At some point in time people are going to realize we're getting the major shaft. Why couldn't you deposit physical cert's? Your TA should have record of every trade along with the DTCC to prove your physical cert's are ligit. So it should be simple. Maybe back in the 1920's you could counterfeit shares....but NOW? Come on.

I haven't tried it lately but I've heard you can't even get physical cert's any more. Why? because THEY want to be the ones to counterfeit shares (or naked short). They will tell you, "We have all that information in computer data bases, no need for physical cert's. Ahhhh, that way they are not accountable to anyone and they run the data base.
My opinion, MYFT is Naked Shorted and will continue to be....that's why we are setting at .04 with millions of shares being traded and no forward movement.

Things have changed drastically over the past year in regards to stock trading in Canada. when it comes to penny stocks your options have been extremely limited. it doesn't matter who you trade with (Canadian Brokerages) If you are trading on a registered account, they wont let you buy penny stocks anymore and if by accident they do put an order through and the Canadian Revenue black list doesn’t catch it right away you are looking at very large fines at the end of the year. just as trading of those stocks have been limited so have cert verification and acceptance.

As to your questions regarding what others are doing with their certs. well you can ask anyone who has spoken to me on this board over the past year and they will tell you that I always said the certs mean nothing to me and I am not interested. to back that up even more I still have not and will not request my certs. true some say its like giving away free money but if you ever had to deal with certs from penny land you'll come to know that sometimes its just not worth the headache.
but that is just my opinion!
