Great. Let's face it. Either longs or shorts will be crushed. As a long, I am fine with either way. But it has to be big, and what I hate the most is the lukewarm response after the verdict time.

Longs and shorts have chosen their sides.

Now all eyes are on CCME

Geez, what kind of number is this? Let's see. Almost all of us here thought that the shorts sure did cover on the huge dip after all the attacks from Citron and MW and the stock went to 10. Guess what. They increased their exposure. Does anybody here think they will leave us alone anytime soon? This number is mind boggling especially under these circumstances. We traded 30 million shares within a few days back then and we were down 60% from the recent highs and they didn't cover but increased their position? Are you kidding me?

Joenatural - you usually have some good insight into why this number looks the way it does. What do you make of it this time? TIA.....

Dang, I predicted 7.4 million in the short interest prediction contest but it turned out to be higher.

My reasoning for a way higher short interest is easy. After Citron and MW, you see an unprecedented avalanche of hit pieces from every single source imaginable. Message boards, blogs, seeking alpha authors, financial news reporter... basically everyone is jumping into the bandwagon and bashing CCME and of course at the same time, they are going to short the stock. It's hard not to join the crowd, because for those who have not done their DD on CCME, it's unheard of to see a stock getting bash by so many people, which by common sense imply that something is wrong with CCME (although common sense fails here).

To make it worse, the management has been relatively quiet during this period, and many takes this as an admission of guilt.

Anyway, now that the short interest is confirmed to be an astounding 7.57 million, I'll probably buy some deep out-of-the money calls next Monday.

Wow! I am amazed that it didnt lower. Shorts will not get out, but when they do...watch out!
