F6, I think that Matt Taibbi article you posted (and I also referenced in a recent prior post) reflects just who our president is in bed with by noting how much money he received in donations from the top banks and who he put in place to make policy, especially over the banks and the Fed that feeds them.
So, if I'm supposed to choose from two sides of the same coin, maybe the democratic party needs to let their base know why they are better for the rank and file citizenry than the republicans and with specifics. Because so far the only difference many of us see ( and I think that means millions of us) is one party uses less caustic language than the other.
