yes, i was reading about that patent issue. apparently one of the analysts felt the way you did until he realized pgnx was keeping the data quiet because of patent issues. my feeling is that a company like slxp, which seems to be a smart company, must know something we don't and it's pretty good or else they wouldn't have sunk so much money into pgnx and given them such a sweetheart deal. i am sure they did a ton of dd beforehand as they would not risk so much on a company where the results were not known. they saw something they liked and as per that analysts comments who upgraded the stock, heard something good from the company. we don't know this yet but i am going to infer from what i am reading that we will like what we are going to hear

Separately, one of the other reasons I decided on PGNX was after doing a little more DD, I found out that one caveat has been that PGNX has Phase 2 data on oral Relistor but has not released that data. The bearish case is that the data is bad so PGNX doesn't want to release it. However, during the Salix CC, Salix confirmed that it had seen the Phase 2 oral Relistor data and was "quite impressed."

Oral Relistor development, unlike subc Relistor, was completely controlled by Wyeth. PGNX didn't get full data transferred to them until sometimes in 2010. So it is not surprising they haven't presented the data yet. Wyeth did announce positive result when the trial was done, so I wouldn't doubt the data. Besides PGNX already initiated phase III trial.
