Senior Scientist, Network Biology

Job Description

Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is looking for a dedicated, innovative scientist to help lead a new network biology R&D platform within our Novel Drug Discovery program. We are particularly interested in candidates who can translate the characterization of complex biological networks using a combination of both experimental and computational approaches into an informative and directed understanding of multimodal biological mechanisms. This position requires a demonstration of clear scientific leadership, innovative thinking, and the ability to effectively co-manage a small research team.

Candidate requirements

Demonstrated scientific excellence in knowledge and empirical investigation of complex biological interaction networks in mammalian systems including (but not limited to) intercellular networks and biochemical interactions/pathways across multiple biological compartments and matrices (multi-modal biology).
Strong mixture of computational modeling approaches, experimental design and integration of complex data structures based on directed empirical data collected across multiple measurements (genetic, proteomic, posttranslational, biological, and metabolomic).

Proficient understanding of state-of the art analytical technologies related to proteomics, gene networks, metabolic profiling.

Job Description

The Disease Biology group of Momenta Pharmaceuticals is searching for an individual who will be responsible for cell based assay systems focused on drug development. Hands-on expertise in tissue culture of rodent and human cell lines and ideally primary cells, assay development and implementation as well as cell isolation techniques is required. Additional experience in ELISA or multiplexed assays, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry is highly desired. This individual will be responsible for establishing and performing in vitro testing to guide the selection and development of therapeutic agents for the treatment of inflammatory and immune mediated diseases. Experience with animal handling and dosing is a plus. The candidate will have to excel in a fast-paced matrix environment, be highly collaborative, creative, self-motivated, flexible and detail oriented.
