I believe news only speeds up a process that's already in motion.

While I think we differ on the effect of news, I don't think we differ all that much. I believe even catastrophic news will have only an ephemeral effect on the indices. When I referred to the Saddam Sky Dive, I was thinking more of Da Boyz using a news opportunity to trigger a move that was already "in the cards".
