FURTHER ELABORATION on direct relationship...
In thinking about the significance of the Apple authorized relationship, the following should also be considered:
1.) Most hardware manufacturers do not manufacture their own products...that process is outsourced. Even if their logo is attached, they generally had it made to their specifications, as is the case here. This is a lengthy process to ensure proper fit & finish. NOTE: I remember the day in 1994 when I discovered Motorola did not make their own batteries...I felt so deceived when I saw the batwing logo on the battery and Motorola did not actually make it??!!
2.) Patent & trademark protection... the Chinese do not generally recognize U.S. rules and regs, often brazenly knocking off products and labelling them as OEM. Apple knows this and safeguards their brand image very carefully, further validating SNRS. I would hope that SNRS availed themselves of U.S. AND Chinese copyright & patent protection to the greatest degree possible.
3.) VERIZON FACTOR...All of the brand protection concepts applicable to Apple certainly apply to Verizon. The press release implies they are making this FOR VERIZON as well. Does that mean that SNRS's case will be offered in Verizon stores as a private label product? If so, that is HUGE! The only place you could get it would be a Verizon store. This means an agreement in place with Verizon as an exclusive supplier, which even further validates the company and the product.
Well, I convinced myself...I will place an order buy some more shares!
