Okay, what about Intel? Lincroft @ 900MHz is supposedly at 1.3W, and 1.5GHz at 2.2W. That's not considering that we still need to add the numbers for Langwell. Rumors are that the Whitney Point chipset for Oak Trail is 0.8W, and let's assume Langwell is a little less at 0.6W, meaning combined TDP numbers will be 1.9W for the 900MHz and 2.8W for 1.5GHz.

If Intel's numbers for SpecCPU are to be believed, the 1GHz A9 roughly equals 1.2GHz Lincroft for the multi-threaded portion. Then the 900MHz Lincroft is like a 750MHz A9 and 1.5GHz version is like 1.25GHz A9.

To be at competitive levels, we need the 900MHz version to have a combined TDP of 1W or less, 1.1GHz by second half of this year.

So you said new process tech doesn't make it half the power, which is true, so do you think it's possible for Intel to reach almost half the power with at least 20% more frequency?

(While it is true new process doesn't halve the power, depending on the design, some are close to half the power, and Core Duo wasn't it, my bad)
