In Intel leaked results for a few of the last generations, you typically find a bunch of benchmark runs for the processor by a gamer or overclocker.

Screenshots or charts.

Not the vague whispers that it's supposed to be this or that. 50% faster in what? Integer? Floating point? Cache latency? SIMD?

From previous experiences, Fudzilla has a decent reputation for these sorts of rumors. However, that is being tested nowadays. First he claims that the Cougar Point chipset isn't compatible with Ivy Bridge, and now he has another article saying it is. So what about this rumor?

50% isn't a far fetched number if they are talking about embarassingly parallel benchmarks, after all, there are 50% more cores.
