Naked shorting in this country is totally illegal.. The MMs are the ones that put in the buys and sells of everybody in this and other countries.. Shorting in this country is not illegal. But it takes a lot of volume to be succesful at it and most houses wont let you short a stock under a dollar and others are 4 bucks and on top of that the fees are out of the realm for most people at about 2.40 a share if you dont hit your number..The shorts here are minimum at best The flippers on the other hand are all over this
