Absolutely right that temperature was a problem. But they now understand the importance of managing the temperature for any kind of longevity of the system. Color was also a bit of an issue but both are being addressed.
The residential market concerns me a little. Trueheart pointed out the high cost of the LED's compared to CFL's. considering the average time in a home is 7 years, why buy a 20 year life bulb...unless you plan on taking them all with you when you move...lol. CFL's cannot cost effectively dim, although LED dimming is not cheap yet either. My concern is there are a lot of inferior products on the market for less cost that will problaby not last, but may leave a lasting impression on consumers.
All the issues will get worked out and i just can't imagine how Cree won't be worth substantially more than it is right now, unless one of the lamp manufacturers like Sylvania or Phillips buy them out.
