So what exactly does amd get compensation for again

a competitor specifically asking (e.g. paying with discounts) for it be dropped or reduced by an OEM as terms of the deal being offered by it. That's illegal in any country. Europe was also part of these deals so no doubt the EU will bring a similar case. It's a ticking financial time-bomb IMO.
