ya know i never even knew that until a few years ago i saw a documentary of FDR via PBS
the guy was totally crippled from the waste down and amazingly they were able to hide this from the public by propping him up with a cane and the arm of his strong son
if he had slipped and fell just one time while on camera or in public he would have never been elected, being deemed "too weak", but then he went on to serve 4 terms
of course if not for Eleanor who stuck beside him even after he cheated on her he would have never been elected either
