well i'm sure you've seen this poll

it's a recent favorite of the wingnut anarchist crowd

"A new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds 71% of Americans "oppose raising the country's debt limit even though failure to do so could hurt America's international standing and push up borrowing costs."

so (if that poll is correct) that tells me 71% ignorance on that

but it is kind of a complicated thing... if you ask a random person "do you think we should raise the debt ceiling", they will naturally so "no", because it sounds bad but it's really nothing new

it's another fear mongering tactic being spun in the land of dumbfuckery

the hyperinflation crap is also more fear mongering imo
