The heavy selling started at 1.51 on the 5th and hasn't stop. To see this clearly look at 30 day chart. There was some buying around the current level on the 10th. Albeit, it appears to be a gap might be filling at the .80's level.

It bounce off .80 yesterday and .795 today. I don't like the lower lows and lower highs either. News is needed and perhaps those in the know are aware of it coming as you stated.

Today has been more selling than buying though at this very moment some buying is going on but not nearly enough to get this moving back into the 90's. as it continues to be met with selling pressure.
