But why? Why do you short 5MM shares to get 1.1M shares? The numbers just don't add up... I think the bigger funds have used the shorts to open up the float, while they've slowly added to there positions. Now that they've gotten some bonus shares out of Lin, they could pull the shares out from the shorts and watch them scramble.. I don't think anyone has shorted excessively in order to go long though...they'd be left with a neutral position, no?
