You are confused by the words freedom & liberty compared to dysfunction & dependency. Check America's laws and see for yourself how far we came in losing freedom, even only since the 1950's.
You will find that Conservatism is the seed of liberty. Do you know who started "Political Correctness" a form of oppression and censorship in free speech and a thorn in freedom's side? It was not the T.E.A. Party mindset. But you do not want to hear that right?
