No there was a "merger" not a split, the share structure increase was due to a merger, How could you leave that piece of information out?
I guess that'd be because there's no mention of it whatsoever on the Daily List. There should have been.
Also, the original question was: why was the stock trading at a much higher price a year ago? Well, no matter what the reason for an insane increase in the o/s, it's dilution. The more stock is out there, the lower the price per share.
