PSI-938 passing the 14-day safety hurdle is quite a bit less consequential in the grand scheme of things.




Depends on who you ask. The jury is still out on IDX-184 leaving some uncertainty about the purine class. If PSI-938 failed safety VRUS could fall back on PSI-661 yet it would leave a dark cloud hanging over successful development of purine nukes, and the chances of VRUS bringing a dual nuke DAA to market.

I agree the PSI-938 14-day safety is less consequential from the standpoint it's a shorter trial, and PSI-7977 is further into development, but PSI-938 has the greater potential to disappoint and it's safety profile to date is truly a positive development.
