It has taken me way too long to realize that buy & hold is no longer a profitable way to invest for me. The problem for most people is the lack of available time for the market and additionally the right trading platform which enables one to compete with the big boys. This past year I decided to basically go all in and take some risk because I was getting nowhere with buy and hold. I still don't go to all cash daily but wish I could as some here on Ihub claim they do daily.
Options were something I had tinkered with over the years and in around 2000 I made $40,000 on an option play. That should have kept me in the game but again I needed the right trading platform and the determination to stick with it.
It's difficult to play around with stocks on an occasional basis and consistently make money. You have to be in the game.
