Danforth College was located in old downtown Texas City at 519 Ninth Avenue North Texas City, Texas. It was started by Dr Danforth the first doctor to open a medical practice in Texas City (1905) and was located next door to Danforth Memorial Hospital in the old Danforth elementary School. It was first opened as a nursing school and later as a technical school for the Petro/Chemical plants located in Galveston County. It was consolidated with the College of The Mainland around 1980.
