My thinking is that if we do not go back at least under 1300 (1280 preferred), it will be a pyrrhic victory for the bulls, because that will obliterate the chance of a good solid secular bull next year. Very similar to my "turn" last December 29, when the reaction from around 1940 (if memory serves) was too mild, the top was then put on January 9th at 2098, just another 150 Naz points, and then the Naz was almost halved in ten months.
