Merc dimes are good, but these might be even better. Just like 1/20th oz gold coins might be a lot better for barter than a full ounce of gold.
And when you turn in a 1 ounce gold for cash...say, when gold is at $2,000...well, that's when Mr. Taxman will take a huge bite. But the smaller denominations could still be cashed under that pesky new $600 barrier.
Government intrinsically smells and big government stinks.
