It's one thing to tell me that I just don't understand. It's entirely another to introduce a plausible explanation. I'm guessing you're lacking that plausible explanation.

Here's my original comment in case you want to try again, "PETE and many other plastics contain elemental oxygen. For PETE, that's about 1/3 oxygen. Oxygen plagues pyrolysis since it leads to the formation of acids, ketones and a number of other hard-to-remove contaminants."

Please tell us how refineries sometimes take crude oil containing a non-trivial amount of oxygen and how they handle that. Don't worry, I don't expect a plausible answer from you--it's just for the benefit of anyone who may have given your post credence and had that color their investment. Since you're an expert, I'm sure you won't just back away from your statement, or will you?
