What does it really matter at this point (I mean really?) The PATs run our in what 2year? So the patent challenge is just to keep the QR code door open until then. Then Google or Mr softy or ANYONE can do what every they want to with code we well not see one penny from it. Hopefully the accounts using us over seas will have a good return and keep using us .BUT, the ways ScanBuy has been kicking down doors they many just do a business call to those who are using us, once the threat of no licensing for them is past
too bad it could have been great now we just hope it turns out OK
RW AND I wish I was wrong and the future was indeed much brighter
Roadog this patent reexam could be more than just about barocdes.. could also be about NFC and RFID , don't quote me but here's what I found when the first reexam passed some blogger made these commets see link below he obviously wasn't happy about it passing..
The community must recognize the harm of granting obvious patents such as ’048 which is going to be applied in strength by NeoMedia to everything related to digital-to-physical world connections, such as “mobile barcodes” and even potentially to NFC-based interactions; the latter harder to protect as the ’048 is mainly about barcodes yet it is up to interpretation as the ’048 does mention “RF”. This is a serious matter and I predict the ’048 patent is going to be a heated topic in the future.
