I know we all wait on every dripping word, and then sadly, take it out of context.
If you listen to all of that, you can hear that she, and others, are tired. And this was in the semi-lull of post-cross "wrap up".
It's like the news saying "and the murderer that the police are hunting" -- and somebody corrects them and says "and the ALLEGED murderer that the police are hunting..."
That's all it was. In a brief bit of banter. In the tired hour of the day... Brian left out, what we had heard all day long, the 'if' part of the plan being confirmed, and THJMW humorously chided him.
