Ticonderoga Sees Interesting New Features Possible For Apple (AAPL) iPhone (MVIS); Sees 5.95M iPads in Q2 http://micurl.com/gbmEgzy
Ticonderoga Securities analyst Brian White wrote Friday about the potential features that could come in the next-generation of the iPhone from Apple Inc.
White sees the iPhone 5 as a potential candidate for adopting an Advanced Television System platform similar to the now irrelevant Flo TV from Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM).
The report state that ATSC-M/H “could increasingly become available in high-end smartphones in the future, and we believe the next generation iPhone 5 represents an attractive candidate for this feature.”
White also sees the iPhone 5 as a potential early adopter for a pico projector that would allow the user to project a presentation on a large surface. Could be a boon for Microvison Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS), as shares of the company are up 15 percent to $1.66 in Friday on the speculation.
The analyst adds that these features could benefit the iPad as well.
White continues to see Apple selling 5.95 million iPads in its fiscal Q2.
