Buyout is about more than just acquiring a particular process or technology, it is also about acquiring the talent that fuels the innovation and passion in the co. Many mnta scientists would likely be turned off by the culture change of a big pharma buyout ... nvs has to think long and hard about the holistic implication of a buyout.

I doubt NVS will be thinking long and hard about the holistic implication of making a buyout offer for MNTA. IMO, NVS would likely keep MNTA as a standalone entity since there are few advantages in fully integrating MNTA besides eliminating some SG&A (accounting/finance/legal/HR, etc.) related costs (which they could still eliminate without impacting MNTA's culture).
