By what metric would you consider we ever broke out of the secular bear market since 2000?

I don’t use such labels because I agree with johnbits that it doesn’t really matter what you call it.

I think, by technical definition, we are in a technical secular bear market rally.

However, as Dew just implied, who really cares what you call it if you are long equities since March of 2008. I know I don't...feels like a nice bull to me.
