Does the FDA really operate that way? I'm probably being naive, but I would expect the FDA to approve/reject Teva's L based on its own merits.

I've only peripherally followed the company up to now. I did listen to their call today and the results do indeed seem very strong indeed. Without any question the drug works (and it's not many drugs I can say this about) and produces a clinically meaningful benefit in at least some patients.

When I checked the market cap online today after the call and got a $200m answer, I got very excited. Fortunately I restrained myself from putting all my money in the company until I had spoken to rkrw, who pointed out the correct market cap is around $1 billion. (There are 2 classes of common, and the site I was using only used one of them in the calculation).

At $1 billion MC it's probably fairly priced here, although I could see the stock doing well over time if all goes well.
