Eve - true, however, part of the reason is the economic times.
I heard yesterday that NT (Nortel Networks) is contemplating a reverse split next year. That stock was once the pride and joy of Canada.
Bad economic times = issues shares = dillution.
Good economic times = stock splits!!
Funny thing, but I remember conversation back when we were in the $20's and $30's, that we didn't have enough shares for liquidity and the NASDAQ likes to see some kind of ratio, otherwise a stock like BSTI back then could have been too easily manipulated with such a small amount of shares outstanding and float. Ha, don't have to worry about that anymore.
