Very interesting phone call with MnVAP this afternoon

While making some minor changes to the iBox this afternoon, I ended up in the MnVAP section. As I read the info there, I decided to give Keith Poier a call, and luckily he was in. I love his laid back midwestern drawl, and we had a nice 10 minute chat.

What can I say? I was very happy I called.

They are currently building a 'laboratory' [?] to test the fuel efficiency of using the KDS v. their old method. They hope to have results by September.

He didn't tell me anything he shouldn't, because a couple of times he said he wasn't willing to answer a particular question.

One of those questions was regarding two companies they are working with, and what they were working on. I asked if they were companies in the area, and he said one was, but the other would move there if all works out.

They don't have the latest KDS modifications on their KDS, but they're going to add them, plus some of their own, to increase the throughput via feedstock size. I mentioned that I had read that the largest size the Micronex could handle was 6", and was that correct. He said bigger.

You may want to sit down to read this (oh, you say your are already sitting?). Okay. He said 18 inch to 24 inches was what they were looking at. He even commented about what kind of noise that would make. lol!

The last thing I asked was regarding the original PR, which stated MnVAP would purchase another KDS if they were happy with the first, and whether that was still the plan. Are you still sitting?

He said they would, "buy a lot more than 2."
