I the grand scheme of things the world needs a lower dollar. I doubt that we see a sizable bounce anytime soon. Of course, I guess that depends on the definition of "sizable".
I don't see the dollar getting much higher than recent highs nor do I see oil going any lower than recent lows. I think the world is in the process of finally coming to grips with some of the realities that we should have been working on a long time ago. Unfortunately, democracies leave little incentive to take on the challenges of the future if there is the least bit of pain involved.
But if and when China follows Korea to diversify out of the buck, that 78 support will melt like butter IMHO unless Greenspan gets really aggressive about hiking rates.
