I am not expert on CCMP but I believe their products are a prerequisite required material on all production coming off smaller geometry fabs. Since these smaller geometry fabs are most cost efficient, they tend to be the most utilized when capacity utilization dips as now and these smaller geometry fabs in the works are not being canceled as much as one would expect, so in conclusion I would not want to be short this stock unless I had some proof their future prospects sucked and short interest wasn't at record high.

DOW 9000 and S&P 960 anytime in next 5 trading sessions.

ml, CCMP is the diametric opposite of LRCX and other semi equip. It is not really an equipment supplier, it supplies CMP slurries, and the more the industry moves to finer features the more they have to use cmp, and thus CCMP's products. Because ASP of chips decline, but number of chip sold still increase, they have to worry only about competing outfits trying to undersell them. In general, they are much more immune to the "cycle" than the chips and certainly much more than the Semi-equip companies. Their business is actually quite profitable.
