many of these organizations have been around for decades, intk has only been around for 6 or so years, two and a half years of those six have been during economic chaos. basically what i'm trying to say is that they think in terms of five, ten, twenty years, so thusly apps can be delayed, especially when they already use somewhat satisfactory systems and get acceptable profits from them.
and while companies want to save money and increase profit, that does not mean they use their resources effectively, look at how much fat they cut out during this recent reccession.
look at the auto markets over the last few decades, logic would say that people would want to go with the more fuel efficient vehicles, especially after the oil shocks, but only now is that trend truly emerging in america. same with solar power, the industry made sense thrity years ago, but not enough resources or incentives were devoted towards it until now.
now i'm not saying intk will be successful, in fact it looks like they'll run out of resources at the moment before anything catches, but I am saying that projects being delayed for a few years or being canceled is not very surprising especially considering what has happened over the last few years.
