<<Because God's people voted for and got Bush elected>>

Not to turn this board to politics or religion, but I thought that "we are all God's people" is a rather basic tenet of the Bible. The only possible implication of your statement is that those who did not vote for Bush are not God's people. That's fascinating to me.

OT: And Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals, prostitutes like Mary Magdalene and the Clintons. BTW, thou shalt not kill. Have you ever even read the bible? BTW, last I looked in the ranks of your so called "Christian" heterosexuals, adultry is running rampant.

1 Timothy 6:9-10

9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10For the love of money is the root of every evil; for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Does this remind you of anyone you know????

1 Timothy 4:1-3

1Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from what we believe; they will follow lying spirits and teachings that come from demons.

2These teachers are hypocrites and liars. They pretend to be religious, but their consciences are dead.

3They will say it is wrong to be married...

OT: James 4:12 - There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you–who are you to judge your neighbor?

1 John 4:20 - If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.

BTW, I saw one of your quotes was from the OLD Testament. Unless you are Jewish (and it would make no sense that you are), shows how clueless you are into understanding what Christ's coming and his teachings and the New Testament are all about. Typical of the so called right wing "Christians"

Bib, it appears you've initiated a very volatile, non-market related discussion. It appears to have been resolved.

By the way, when you selectively quote supporting stuff from the Old T, remember all the other things in there too, like how you're supposed to treat your slaves, how many women you can marry and keep as mistresses, and other important stuff like that.

I hope you are treating your slaves accordingly.

If we followed things by the literal reading, in WWII we could have gone into Germany and killed every man and boy in Germany and taken all of their women as our slaves or wives, justifiably. Personally, I'm kind of glad we didn't do that, but that's just me. For example, we would have had to kill Ferdinand Porsche, and that would have sucked.

bib, did you realize Reagan rarely set foot in a church while he was in the White House? However, he pretty much was practicing sorcery with the astrologer Nancy brought in to advise the first couple.

Get your facts straight before you annoint and cannonize the guy, OK?

Politics is a very different business from the reality most of us have to live in.

If you want to talk about devout Presidents, Carter is probably the most devout in the past 50-years. He taught Sunday school, and has continued to give back througout his retirement.

He was a lousy president and in over his head on most issues, but nobody could question his faith.

He was and still is a deft diplomat, however. He has my respect as a human being, and for trying to leave the world a better place.
