What product does Agilyx produce and what are the profits?
Are they capable of processing multi-tons a day?
What is the cost of equipment?
Is the process green?
What types of plastics can be processed?
How much can they process a month (including downtime)?
I expect that when JBII becomes operational they will be the only viable, profitable system and the others unfortunately will not survive without a major breakthrough.
Everyone knows that small quantities of oil from plastic have been made in the past but with little to no sustainable success - that's why JBII is so special.
Being 1st is not important - being the best is.
Agilyx is permitted. It operates 5 days a week 24 hours per day. It sells what it produces.
Agri-Plas was a test facility and the test processing equipment was removed September. It is permitted and it sold its product. It anticipates beginning to receive the new processing equipment in February, 2011 and to (re)commence expanded operations within 6 months.
There was a lot more interesting things brought up in both conversations, but this at least should clarify that:
--JBI will not be the first permitted plastic to fuel processor in North America.
--Agilyx is indeed still producing and selling product.
--Agri-Plas is anticipating an upgrade beginning February 2011.
