As part of the announced restructuring, ABT is closing Solvay’s former US headquarters in Marietta, GA. From a 2009 article in a local newspaper:

Solvay employs about 400 people in Marietta, at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Solvay Biologicals and Unimed Pharmaceuticals… A spokeswoman for the Chicago-based Abbott Laboratories said she did not have any information on whether the local employees would be retained or whether the offices would remain in Marietta. But county leaders will try to ensure that happens… The Marietta operations include a 50,000-square-foot distribution center, where drugs are exported throughout the world.
